Patrick Krauth has been appointed general manager of Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. He took up the post in October 2026. It is his first general manager role.
A career built in food and beverage
Patrick Krauth comes from Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica, where he had been resort manager since July 2024, after a year as executive assistant manager for food and beverage. Before that, he was executive assistant manager at Grand Hyatt Amman, in Jordan, from February 2022.
His earlier career runs through some of Hyatt's best-known addresses. He directed food and beverage at Park Hyatt Sydney from December 2014 to January 2018, then at Park Hyatt Busan in South Korea for about four years. He was assistant director of food and beverage at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas from 2012 to 2014.
Outside the group, he worked in food and beverage at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica from 2007, then at Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires. He started at Grand Hyatt Berlin in 2000, before roles at Park Hyatt Chicago and Park Hyatt Washington.
The resort
Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa stands on Hadahaa island, in the Huvadhoo atoll, in the south of the country. It has 51 villas, the Vidhun Spa and the Blue Journeys diving centre, which holds PADI Five Star certification. The resort opened in late 2009 as Alila Villas Hadahaa and came under Hyatt management on 1 April 2011, becoming the group's first hotel in the Maldives.
The signal
More groups are giving their first general manager roles to leaders who grew up in food and beverage. On a remote island, where guests take every meal on site, dining shapes much of the stay and much of the revenue.
Congratulations to Patrick Krauth on his new role.
